In the industrial setting HDPE has found a niche in the production of pipes and fittings where it is extensively used due to its resistance to chemical corrosion. It is also used extensively for household water supply. Within both the household and industrial setting HDPE sheeting can also be used as a root barrier, potentially saving a company large amounts of money due to root intrusion into sensitive areas.
